I find that education, it don't matter where you go to school, Italy, America, Brazil, all are the same -- it's all this memorization and it don't matter how long you can remember anything just so you can parrot it back for the tests.

I got this idea for a school I would like to start, something called the Five Minute University. The idea is that in five minutes you learn what the average college graduate remembers five years after he or she is out of school.

It would cost like twenty dollars. That might seem like a lot of money, twenty dollars just for five minutes, but that's for like tuition, cap and gown rental, graduation picture, snacks, everything. Everything included.

You know, like in college you have to take a foreign language. Well, at the Five Minute University you can have your choice, any language you want you can take it. Say if you want to take Spanish, what I teach you is "¿Como está usted?" that means, "how are you", and the answer is "muy bien," means "very well." And believe me, if you took two years of college Spanish, five years after you are out of school "¿Como está usted?" and "muy bien" about all you're gonna remember.

So in my school that's all you learn. You see, you don't have to waste your time with conjugations and vocabulary, all that junk. You'll just forget it anyway, what's the difference.

Economics? "Supply and Demand." That's it. Business is, "you buy something, and you sell it for more." Theology, I'm gonna have a theology department, you know, since I'm a priest, and what you have to learn in theology is the answer to the question, "Where is God?", and the answer is, "God is everywhere." Why? "Because he likes you." That's kind of a combination of the Disney and Roman Catholic philosophy. It's just perfect for the late 70s or early 80s you know, just perfect.

Well, after the courses are all over, then it's time for a little Easter vacation. No time to go to Fort Lauderdale, only lasts for like twenty seconds. But what I'll do for you, I like to turn on the sun lamp you know, give you a little glass of orange juice, that's for the snack part, orange juice, and then after vacation it's time for the final exams. I say to you, "¿Como está usted?" you say "muy bien," "Where is God?" "God is everywhere," Economics, "supply and demand," then you put on a cap and a gown, I get out my Polaroid camera, you know, make a little snap flash picture for you, I give you the picture, you give me twenty dollars, I give you a diploma, and you're a college graduate, ready to go.

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure, right next door to the five minute university, I might open up a little law school. You got another minute?

What is Prader-Willi syndrome?
Prader-Willi Syndrome is an uncommon genetic disorder that causes poor muscle tone, low levels of sex hormones and a constant feeling of hunger among other things. People with this disorder have a problem with their hypothalamus, part of the brain that controls feelings of fullness or hunger. Thus, these people never feel full and have a constant urge to eat, ultimately leading to life-threatening obesity.
Prader-Willi syndrome in most cases result from a spontaneous genetic mutation in genes on chromosome 15 that occurs at conception. In rare cases, the mutation is inherited.
What are the symptoms of Prader-Willi syndrome?
Often people with this disorder experience symptoms in two stages.
Stage 1 - Infants with Prader-willi syndrome can have low muscle tone affecting their ability to such properly. Because of this, they need special feeding assistance to help them eat and they may have problems gaining weight. The situation gets better as they grow older.
Stage 2--Between the ages of 1 and 6 years, the children with the disorder may feel constant hunger, have an insatiable appetite, meaning they never feel full.
Although they eat more, but because they have less muscle mass, they do not burn as many calories as the normal peers leading to the development of life-threatening obesity if the diet is not kept under strict control.
Other symptoms that may affect people with Prader-Willi syndrome include
Behavioral problems such as stubbornness or temper tantrums
Delayed motor skills and speech due to low muscle tone
Cognitive problems, ranging from near normal intelligence to mild intellectual and developmental disabilities; learning disabilities are common
Repetitive thoughts and verbalizations
Collecting and hoarding of possessions
Picking at skin
Low sex hormone levels
Prader-Willi syndrome is considered a spectrum disorder, meaning that not all symptoms are expected to occur in everyone with the disorder and the symptoms may range from mild to severe.
People with Prader-Willi syndrome often have some special mental strengths as well, such as skills in jigsaw puzzles. If obesity can be prevented, people with the syndrome can live a normal lifespan.
What are the treatments for Prader-Willi syndrome?
There is no cure for Prader-Willi syndrome. But, early intervention can help people with the disorder build skills for living a better life. Early diagnosis is essential and luckily a health care provider can simply do a blood test to check for Prader-Willi syndrome.
Exercise and physical activity can help control weight gain and develop motor skills. Speech therapy may also help with oral skills.
Human growth hormone can help increase height, decrease body fat, and increase muscle mass. However, nothing can help control appetite in those with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Brown mourns 'senator of senators' Kennedy

LONDON (AFP) – US Senator Ted Kennedy will be mourned around the world as a champion of equal rights, Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Wednesday, while ex-premier Tony Blair called him a "true public servant."

"Senator Edward Kennedy will be mourned not just in America but in every continent," Brown said in a statement following his death at the age of 77.

"He is admired around the world as the senator of senators. He led the world in championing children's education and health care, and believed that every single child should have the chance to realise their potential to the full.

"Even facing illness and death he never stopped fighting for the causes which were his life's work," Brown added.

The prime minister said he was proud to count Kennedy as a friend and he recalled that Britain had recognised his service this year with the award of an honorary knighthood.

Kennedy played a major role in establishing peace in Northern Ireland, helping to smooth the negotiations which led to the 1998 Good Friday Agreement ended decades of strife in the British province.

Former premier Blair, who oversaw the Good Friday negotiations, praised Kennedy's "passionate commitment" to the peace process.

He said: "Senator Kennedy was a figure who inspired admiration, respect and devotion, not just in America but around the world.

"He was a true public servant committed to the values of fairness, justice and opportunity.

"I saw his focus and determination first hand in Northern Ireland where his passionate commitment was matched with a practical understanding of what needed to be done to bring about peace and to sustain it.

"My thoughts and prayers today are with all his family and friends as they reflect on the loss of a great and good man."

Kennedy, the brother of former President John F. Kennedy died after a long battle with a brain tumour.
