Death on the Nile Suicide Scene too Grisly for Daytime TV

The independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, Ofcom, had criticized ITV execu tives fo allowing a scene from the 1978 movie Death on the Nile to be screened at 3:30 pm on March 17. In the closing moments, after the murderer has been indentified, the character jackie de Bellefort (played by Mia Farrow) schoots her lover Simon Doyle (played by Simon MacCorkindale) in the head off camera. Then she puts the revolver to her own head and shoots her self, causing blood to trickle from the wound.
